Dyer
County Fair
Coming up September 6-11. Last year our booth won
2nd place for Community Service Exhibit! Special thanks to Tammy Hendrix
for coordinating the decorations and setup for the exhibit. We also
appreciated Terry and Wendy Scott with Illusions
and Balloons partnering with us. Their amazing balloon sculptures
drew a huge crowd and fit perfectly with the theme: Magic in the Air
at the Dyer County Fair. Wash for Life
The 2010 Wash for Life will be Saturday, September 18.
The
Wash for Life is an annual pro-life youth event. On the same day,
groups of youth all over the country hold a car wash in their own home
town and donate the money to a local Pregnancy Care Center. This way,
they participate in a national event while at the same time helping
their own community.
Following the car washes that will take
place throughout the community, Life Choices will host an open house
followed by a youth rally featuring a guest speaker, entertainment, and
live ultrasound demonstration. More details coming soon!
Baby Bottle Boomerang
A presentation is given in a worship service, women's
group, or Sunday School, and families are encouraged to take home
bottles and fill them with checks, cash, coins, or pledges, and then
return them in four weeks.
Baby Bottle Boomerang is a great opportunity
for local churches to help pregnancy resource centers like Life Choices
meet their financial needs as well as introduce their members to Life
Choices so when someone they know faces an unplanned pregnancy, he or
she will know where to turn..

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday and Be a Voice
Since
1983, Americans have observed Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS) as
a day to celebrate the intrinsic value of all human life. This
important day also provides an opportunity for pregnancy centers to
share about the work they do to bring life-affirming resources to their
communities and to empower women and men to choose life for their
unborn children.
In 2010, SOHLS took place on January 24th.
Life Choices made black ribbon cards available to local churches and individuals.

ation add to their commemoration of Sanctity of
Human Life Sunday by launching Baby Bottle Boomerang during the month
of January.

A Light in the Darkness
Life Choices held a community-wide service on Sunday evening, January 24 at
4:00pm at First Baptist Church, Dyersburg to celebrate the sanctity of
human life and pray for our community and nation.
Heart to Heart Cake Auction
The Heart to Heart Cake Auction resulted in just over $7,000 to be split equally between our two organizations.
For the second year, Life Choices partnered with Transitions of Dyer County for
its Heart to Heart Cake Auction. Amazing cooks from all over the county
baked delicious cakes that were paired with fabulous gifts donated by
friends of the two organizations. The auction was held Friday, February 12, at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
We appreciate everyone who came out and bid on these Valentine's items
as well as all those generous folks who made the auction
possible.Special Thanks to Burks Broadcasting and First Baptist Church.
Worship
Fest Assists with Flood Disaster Relief!!
The second WorshipFest: a concert of praise,
was held Saturday, May 8 at 6:00 p.m. at First Christian Church.
100% of donations went directly to flood relief efforts as we
serve those in our community that have been affected by this disaster.
Worshipfest is an annual concert
consisting of worship
leaders and praise bands from area churches to unite the community in
worship featuring Darin Lightfoot from Atmosphere at First
United Methodist Church, Brad Sanko from Cumberland Presbyterian,
Hirchie
Schaffner from The Gathering Place Ministry Center and Adam Waite from
First
Christian Church.

Golf for Life
Eighteen four-member golf
teams supported Life Choices in our Second Annual Golf for Life, held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at The
Farms Golf Club with an 8:00 Shootout. The weather was
picture-perfect, and God used the event to bring more friends to our
Life Choices family. Money is still coming in, but preliminary total,
which includes new corporate sponsorships (to be posted soon) is over
$11,000!
