Getting Involved At the heart of Life Choices are the people who generously donate their time, energy, and resources to help those experiencing pregnancy-related dilemmas.
- Are you looking for an opportunity to serve the Lord in a meaningful way? We'd love to talk to you about whether you might be a good fit for our team! Read below to learn about some of the opportunities we offer to enable you to use the gifts God has given you.
- Have your personal experiences given you a heart for Life Choices? Perhaps God has given you the personal history you have because He wants to use you to minister His love and compassion at Life Choices.
- Do you want to serve, but you feel inadequate? We've found that God often uses people who are aware of their weakness to display His greatest glory.

How has God equipped you? Consider the following opportunities to serve:
Client Advocate Client Advocates are the heart of the ministry at Life Choices, meeting one-on-one with clients.
Initially, they help those facing unplanned pregnancies explore their options. Then, depending on the client's choice, a Client Advocate is available to offer whatever support is needed.
For those who choose to parent, Client Advocates lead clients through our Earn While You Learn Program and parenting classes.
For those who choose adoption, our Client Advocates offer support as they sort through their emotions and choices.
For clients who have chosen abortion and are dealing with regret, we have Client Advocates offering post-abortion support.
If you think you may be interested in serving as a Client Advocate, please contact Laura Waite, Client Services Manager, at 286-4673.
Volunteer Medical Team We need doctors, nurses, and sonographers to meet the ever-growing need to provide medical services for our clients. If you're interested in being a part of our volunteer medical team, please contact Brynda Williams, RN, at 286-4673.
Office Volunteer Because the reason we exist is for our clients, sometimes it can be difficult to find time to clean, file, input data entry, etc. If you're interested in volunteering as a receptionist or helping in other ways, please contact Laura Waite at 286-4673. Don’t worry, we won’t have you answering phones without training you first!
MOM Store The MOM Store is housed at First Christian Church and is open on Wednesday morning and afternoon. We would like to expand the days it is open—just need more volunteers! Mom Store volunteers connect with clients as they come in. Additionally, volunteers keep the store stocked and ready to shop. And twice a year they swop the clothes as the season change.
Donations Volunteers We are currently seeking a volunteer Donations Coordinator and others who can help with donations. This role allows for a lot of flexibility on the volunteer’s end. Responsibilities for these volunteers entail sorting donations as they come in and getting them ready to go to the Mom Store. Responsibilities also include sanitizing and laundering, and taking unusable items to the Dyersburg/Dyer County Union Mission, then recording donations and sending tax receipts to donors.
Cleaning Volunteers Sometimes it's hard to make time for little tasks like sweeping, mopping, and taking out the trash, so volunteer help in this area is an amazing gift because they give staff the gift of time to be meeting with clients and fulfilling other responsibilities.
Junior Ambassadors Junior Ambassadors are students in 6th-12th grade who help in the center with mailouts, cleaning, and special projects and represent Life Choices in their schools. Because they represent the ministry, all participants are required to make a commitment to and complete the study on abstinence.
Events Life Choices plans events throughout the year: Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, Heart to Heart Cake Auction with Transitions, Fund-raising Banquet, Baby Bottle Boomerang, etc. If you would be interested in helping with any event, or perhaps God has given you a passion to speak publicly—we’d love to talk to you about getting involved with our events. Contact Dawn Orman, Development Manager, at 286-4673 for more info.
Board The Life Choices Board of Directors is very much a working board. In addition to governing the organization, the Board is responsible for setting policy, evaluating programs and activities, and securing funds necessary to operate the ministry. The Board meets monthly except in December, and meetings typically last about an hour to an hour and a half. Each board member serves on two board committees, generally one that is more active and one that does not require as much time. With the combination of meetings, preparation for meetings, committee work, and other support, board members generally devote an average of about 3-6 hours per month.

| "Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways:we do not use deception, nor do we distort the Word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God...But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us." II Corinthians 4:1-2, 7
